The Institute for Palestine Studies (IPS) is the only institute in the world exclusively devoted to research, analysis, and publication on Palestinian affairs and the Arab-Israeli conflict. IPS was established in Beirut in 1963 and also has offices in Washington D.C., an affiliate in Ramallah, and a small office in Paris.

The Institute's newest book examines the Palestinian refugee community in Egypt, about which very little has been written.  While its primary focus is on coping strategies and life situations, the book also constitutes a broad portrait of this vulnerable and unprotected community, including its history, the evolution of Egypt's Palestine policies, and the regional and international contexts that shaped those policies.
