U.S. split deepens over Putin's intentions in Syria civil war

By Jonathan Landay and Phil Stewart WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Russia?s latest military moves in Syria have sharpened divisions within the U.S. administration over whether Russian President Vladimir Putin genuinely backs a U.N.-led initiative to end the civil war or is using the negotiations to mask renewed military support for Syrian President Bashar Assad. Russia has repositioned artillery near the disputed city of Aleppo, several U.S. officials told Reuters. Despite withdrawing some fixed-wing aircraft in March, Russia has also bolstered its forces in Syria with advanced helicopter gunships, and renewed airstrikes against moderate opposition groups, said U.S. officials, speaking on condition of anonymity.

Nissim Dahan I was born on September 10, 1952 in Tel-Aviv, Israel. My family in Israel goes back at least 200 years, way before the state was founded. The parents of my grandmother, Sara Algazi, were one of the first 60 families to found the city of Tel-Aviv.

When I was seven years old, my Dad, ever in search of new opportunities, moved my mother, my brother, and me to America, the land of opportunity.

Each of us pursued the American dream in his own way. I studied at the University of Pennsylvania, and became a lawyer at the University of Maryland. I?ve worked with my Dad as a custom home builder for the past 30 years. As part of the family business, I designed, sold, and built approximately 1200 custom homes in the Baltimore metropolitan area.

Nick Dahan's Facebook profileIn 1975, I was fortunate to marry a wonderful woman, Mira, whom I met in Paris, France. She has been the light in my life. Mira worked in the family business for 18 years as our service manager, a job you wouldn?t wish on your worst enemy.

As a family, we?ve been blessed in many ways, and we owe much of it to this great land of America - a land of limitless opportunities, and unlimited possibilities. With so much to be thankful for, comes an irresistible urge to give back to the community.

My wife and I would like to help sell a Vision of Hope on the Arab street, in the Middle East, and in the world as a whole. This would be our way of giving back, and fulfilling our dream to help make a difference in the world.
